This year has been one of quiet change. Not the loud, dramatic kind — but the kind that happens when you finally get tired of carrying what doesn’t serve you anymore.
Happiness, I’ve learned, isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes, it’s about letting go of habits, thoughts, and expectations that keep us from breathing freely.
Here are six things I stopped doing in 2025 that helped me feel lighter, calmer, and more at peace with myself.
1. I stopped pretending I was okay all the time.
There’s a kind of freedom that comes when you admit, “I’m struggling.” I used to think being strong meant holding everything together — but now, I know that honesty is a softer kind of strength. It opens the door to healing.
2. I stopped saying yes when my heart whispered no.
People-pleasing drained me quietly. I’d say yes out of guilt or fear, not love. This year, I started protecting my peace — and learned that “no” can be one of the kindest words we speak to ourselves.
3. I stopped trying to rush God’s timing.
I spent too many days trying to force outcomes that weren’t meant to be yet. Now, I’m learning to rest in the waiting — trusting that God’s plan is always unfolding, even when I can’t see the next step.
4. I stopped comparing my path to someone else’s.
Scrolling through perfect pictures made me forget everyone’s journey has unseen chapters. My peace returned when I focused on my lane — on small joys, quiet wins, and the pace that feels right for me.
5. I stopped holding onto clutter — physical and emotional.
I began releasing what I no longer needed from my closet to my thoughts. The more I let go, the lighter I felt. Peace loves space — and I’m learning to make room for it.
6. I stopped doubting that I deserve joy.
For a long time, I treated joy like something I had to earn. But happiness isn’t a reward — it’s a gift, freely given by God, waiting for us to receive.
This year, happiness has looked softer — quieter — but deeper.
It’s been about slowing down, setting boundaries, and trusting that I don’t have to have it all figured out to live fully.
Because sometimes, the best way to find joy is to stop chasing it and start allowing it.
Gentle Reflection for You
Take a quiet moment to think about the habits, thoughts, or expectations that might still be weighing you down. Sometimes happiness isn’t about adding more—it’s about releasing what no longer serves your peace. Ask yourself: What can I stop doing today that will bring me closer to calm and joy?
Until next time, keep moving with grace. 💛
